“Hm? Why are you afraid of losing them?” She was curious, as she felt that the boys wouldn’t go very far anyway. After all, they were still children.
“I-I’m afraid of losing them because…” He couldn’t say it. Why was it so hard to say? “…Because I’m afraid of what could happen. Yes, there’s nothing to really hurt them down here but up there… The toons, they all hate me. And if they found out about us… I just don’t even want to think about it!” The thought was too unbearable to him. If the toons hurt them… There would be a very heavy price to pay!
She softly whined, and nuzzled Blot comfortingly. “If they ever do, they’d have me to protect them. I don’t know if I’ve said it before, but I think of them as my own pups. I wouldn’t let anything happen to them. I’m not sure if they would want to go right away, thinking about it. They’re still very young, and the world is a big and scary place to a child. They’ll be alright, I promise.” She reached up, softly caressing Blot’s face, hoping that she put him at ease at all with her words and actions.
“Besides, the only reason I could think of them wanting to go up there, is to visit Ellis.”
The Blot carefully listened to Rei’s words and nodded slowly. Her words were so honest and he never did doubt that Rei would defend the boys if any trouble were to arise. “That is true. The world is a rather scary place, even in a rather tame place like Wasteland. But…” He began to smile rather softly. “I will never doubt that they will be all right. After all, we, Nyx, and Xeno, I guess, will be there to protect them.
“That is rather true. The only reason they would want to go upside would be to see Ellis. Though if that were to ever happen, I would send Xeno upside with them. She probably wouldn’t like it though!” The Blot couldn’t help but to laugh at the thought of the shapeshifter just cursing and scowling under her breath all angry at him.
